Photorefractive keratectomy (PRK)

A type of refractive eye surgery that uses a laser to reshape the cornea and correct common vision problems such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. During PRK, the top layer of the cornea is removed and the underlying tissue is reshaped with a laser. The outer layer then grows back naturally to create a new, improved shape for the cornea.
