Determinants of Prelabor Rupture of Membrane among Pregnant Women Admitted to Hospitals in Wolaita Zone, Southern Ethiopia, 2022

Introduction: Prelabor rupture of membrane refers to rupture of the membranes and leakage of amniotic fluid before the onset of true labor. It can lead to significant maternal, fetal, and neonatal morbidities, resulting in mortality and lifelong complications. It complicates 8% to 10% of all pregnancies. Objective: To identify the determinants of prelabor membrane rupture among pregnant women admitted to hospitals in the Wolaita zone in southern Ethiopia in 2022. Methods and Materials: A facility-based, unmatched case-control study was conducted at selected hospitals in Wolaita zone from 15 August to 20 October, 2022.
