Author Guidelines

The Journal of Clinical Rheumatology Research welcomes original, high-quality manuscripts that advance clinical knowledge and practice in rheumatology and related fields. Authors are encouraged to follow the guidelines outlined below to ensure a smooth submission, peer review, and publication process.

Types of Manuscripts

We accept a variety of manuscript types, including but not limited to:

- Original Research Articles: Full-length studies with well-structured methodology and data interpretation.

- Review Articles: Comprehensive overviews of current topics, recent developments, or clinical challenges in rheumatology.

- Case Reports/Case Series: Reports describing rare, unique, or complex clinical presentations with educational value.

- Short Communications: Brief reports of preliminary findings or observations.

- Clinical Trials: Reports of interventional or observational trials relevant to rheumatology.

- Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses: Analyses that adhere to PRISMA guidelines and offer high-level evidence.

- Technical Reports: Articles describing new procedures, instruments, imaging modalities, or diagnostic tools.

- Editorials and Opinions: Expert commentary on evolving issues or research findings in the field.

General Formatting

- Manuscripts should be written in clear, concise English.

- Use standard formatting with 12-point font (preferably Times New Roman), double spacing, and 1-inch margins.

- All pages must be numbered consecutively.

Manuscript Structure

A typical manuscript should include the following sections, as appropriate:

  1. Title Page

- Title of the article

- Full names of all authors

- Affiliations of all authors

- Corresponding author’s contact information (including email)

- Author contribution statement

- Conflict of interest declaration

  1. Abstract

- Structured or unstructured abstract (150–300 words)

- Keywords (4–8 terms)

  1. Main Text

- For research articles: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion.

- Use subheadings where appropriate for clarity.

  1. References

- Use APA citation style throughout.

- Ensure all sources cited in the text are listed in the reference section and vice versa.

  1. Tables and Figures

- Numbered consecutively (Table 1, Table 2, etc.)

- Include descriptive titles and legends

- Tables should be submitted in an editable format

- High-resolution figures (minimum 300 dpi) in JPEG, TIFF, or PNG format

  1. Supplementary Material

- If any, submit as separate files with appropriate labelling.

Ethical Considerations

- All human and animal studies must include a statement of ethical approval and compliance with relevant guidelines.

- Informed consent must be obtained and documented for all patient-related research or identifiable case descriptions.

- Authors must disclose all sources of funding and any potential conflicts of interest.

- Plagiarism, duplicate publication, or data manipulation is strictly prohibited. All submissions undergo plagiarism screening. Articles found to contain unoriginal or improperly credited content will be rejected or retracted.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts are subject to double-blind peer review by qualified experts. The editorial team assigns reviewers based on subject expertise. Authors may suggest potential reviewers or request exclusion of individuals with known conflicts, though final selection rests with the editors.

The review process typically involves:

- Initial editorial screening

- External peer review (minimum two reviewers)

- Author revision (if needed)

- Final editorial decision

Authors will be notified of the outcome, along with any revision requests or editorial suggestions, within a reasonable timeframe.

Submission Process

- Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal’s official submission portal.

- Files should include the main manuscript, title page, and any figures or supplementary data.

- Authors are advised to ensure that all information is complete and correct before submission.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

An article processing charge of $2019 is applicable for accepted articles. This fee supports open-access hosting, editorial services, archiving, indexing, and long-term digital preservation. There are no submission or peer review charges.
