Hernias in a Tertiary Care Center: a Cross-Sectional Study

Background: Abdominal wall hernias are a common condition that is seen in daily general surgery patients. However, still more researches are needed to be conducted regarding hernias. The aim of this study is to see the prevalence of hernias among patients admitted to the Department of Surgery of a tertiary care center. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was performed among patients who admitted to the department of surgery in a tertiary care center between 1 August 2023 and 20 September 2023. All patient’s data were extracted to an excel sheet. Patients under age 18 years old or currently pregnant were excluded from this study. Using SPSS version 23, we analyzed the data.
