  Endometrial Carcinoma staging Issues Laparotomy versus Laparoscopic Approach which is More Feasible and Safer?

  Background: Surgical staging of endometrial cancer is considered one of the main pathways for managing those categories of cases. Uterine cancers are considered a challenging surgical scenario in many situations due to anatomical changes in tissue planes and metastatic disease besides the presence of obesity in many cases requiring management. Aim: To compare laparoscopy versus laparotomy for complete uterine cancer surgical staging. Methodology: Cases having clinical stage I to IIA endometrial carcinoma have been randomly allocated to laparoscopy or open laparotomy including hysterectomy, salpingo - oophorectomy, pelvic cytology, pelvic and para-aortic lymphadenectomy.
