Correlation Between Psychosocial Support and Maternal-Fetal Outcomes Among Women in Labour At A Low Resource Setting Health Facility in Uganda: Analytical Cross-Sectional Study

Introduction: Labour and delivery processes often evoke intense fear and anxiety among pregnant women. Although psychosocial support has been shown to reduce anxiety and fear during labour, the extent to which it is provided and its relationship with maternal and fetal outcomes remain poorly understood. Purpose: To determine the level of psychosocial support and its association with maternal and fetal outcomes among pregnant women in labour. Methods: This study was conducted at a regional referral hospital in Eastern Uganda using a quantitative analytic cross-sectional design. A total of 168 low-risk women in labour, with cervical dilatation of 5 cm or less, were enrolled.
