Libraries and Information Institutions and Their Everlasting Role in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
Abstract

Information institutions of various types—including all categories of libraries, especially public libraries, as well as museums, information canters, and archives—have played a significant role throughout the years in preserving the heritage and history of nations. They provide low-cost services to all segments of society without discrimination and continue to fulfil a vital mission: spreading awareness and supporting community members with the knowledge and skills required for effective interaction, coexistence, and integration. They introduce people to new technologies and how to use them, while also fostering an appreciation for literature and art among all. In the era of artificial intelligence, there are loud calls for information institutions to keep pace with rapid technological developments and to harness these innovations in support of their mission to serve communities.
