Journal of Architectural Engineering and Built Environments(JAEBE)

Author Guidelines

The Journal of Architectural Engineering and Built Environments is an international peer-reviewed journal for researchers, practitioners, and educators working in architectural engineering, construction, sustainable design, and the broader study of the built environment. We welcome high-quality work that offers practical insight, presents new methods, or discusses developments in these fields. Along with full research papers, the journal also accepts shorter reports that share emerging ideas or preliminary findings.

Plagiarism:

Manuscripts must be original and free from plagiarism. Authors should avoid copying figures, tables, or text without proper citation. Reproducing material from other sources without permission is considered malpractice. Any data, images, or illustrations taken from existing work must be clearly acknowledged.

Article Publication Charges:

The article publication charge for the Journal of Architectural Engineering and Built Environments is $2099, payable upon acceptance. A fee waiver may be considered in certain cases. Authors may contact the managing editor for details or eligibility.

We publish a range of article types, including research papers, reviews, mini-reviews, short communications, case studies, editorials, letters to the editor, commentaries, rapid communications, conference abstracts, and selected proceedings.

Manuscripts are placed into categories based on the nature of the work. Authors may suggest a classification in their cover letter, but the editorial team may adjust it as needed during the review process. The final category will appear above the article title.

Note: Authors must include a cover letter when submitting their manuscript.

Manuscript Formatting Guidelines

Manuscript Title: The title should be concise, limited to 25 words or fewer, and should not include abbreviations. It must reflect the main focus of the study.

Author Information: Provide full names, affiliations, and contact information for all authors. The corresponding author’s email and phone number should be clearly stated.

Abstract: The abstract should briefly describe the purpose of the study, methods used, key findings, and main conclusions. It should not exceed 300 words. Avoid abbreviations where possible. Include a list of 3-10 keywords after the abstract.

Introduction: The introduction should outline the background of the study, summarise relevant literature, and explain the aim or question the work addresses. It should be written in a way that readers from different fields can understand the context.

Materials and Methods: Provide a clear explanation of the study design. Describe materials, data sources, procedures, analytical methods, and tools used. Previously published methods should be cited, and any modifications should be noted briefly. Trade names should be capitalized, and manufacturer details included.

Results: Present the findings of the study clearly and logically. Use past tense for work carried out by the authors. Results may be combined with the discussion section if appropriate. Interpretation of findings belongs in the discussion, not in the results.

Acknowledgement: Mention funding sources, supporting institutions, or individuals who assisted with the work.

References: Include only published or accepted work in the reference list. Unpublished data, meeting abstracts, or submitted manuscripts should not be cited. Personal communications should be supported by written permission. Authors are encouraged to include an online link for each reference when possible.

Submitting a manuscript implies that the work has not been published elsewhere and is not under review by another publication.
