  Return to sport (RTS) after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) is a clinically decisive endpoint, particularly for athletes whose expectations are shaped by graft choice, surgical technique and rehabilitation milestones. The present systematic review was rewritten to focus exclusively on English-language primary clinical and experimental studies published from January 2011 to June 2026, with systematic reviews, narrative reviews, meta-analyses, editorials and consensus statements excluded from the included evidence base. The central question was whether surgical technique and graft type determine the time to RTS after ACLR.
