Model Based Maximum Likelihood Detector for Optical Communications Systems Employing the Nonlinear Fourier Transform

Optical communication systems are implemented in many systems and employ the nonlinear fourier transform (NFT). The use of the model is based on a maximum likelihood detector. The fiber communication system is described by the NFT scheme and by Digital Signal Processing (DSP) architecture.
