Retinoschisis and Narrow Anterior Chamber Angle: An Uncommon Association or Mere Coincidence?

Objective: To demonstrate and analyze the epidemiological, clinical, and evolutionary data of the association between retinoschisis and primary angle closure suspect (PACS), primary angle closure (PAC), or primary angle closure glaucoma (PACG). Methods: A retrospective and observational study was conducted at a single ophthalmological medical center, using records from the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10) for closed-angle glaucoma and retinoschisis. The medical records were analyzed, and all information was recorded. Results: Out of the 9,854 patients evaluated, 1,144 were classified as having PACS, PAC, or PACG, accounting for 11.6% of the total.
