Diabetes mellitus metabolic cum vascular syndrome of multiple aetiologies characterized by chronic hyperglycemia with disturbances of CHO, Fat and Protein metabolism resulting from defects in insulin secretion, insulin action or both. This disorder is frequently associated with long term disease, which can lead to failure of organs like eyes, kidneys, nerves, heart, and blood vessel. In recent years India has witnessed a rapidly exploding epidemic of Diabetes.
