Alcohol and Alcoholism in Russia since 1985 with Special Reference to the Suicide Rate

The purpose of this report was to draw attention to certain aspects of alcohol consumption in Russia: consequences of the antialcohol campaign (AAC) (1985-1988), use of the alcohol-related topics to distract public attention from shortages of public health and assistance, toxicity of some legally sold alcoholic beverages, offences against alcoholics and people with alcohol-related dementia aimed among others at appropriation of their immobile property.
