Analysis of Amplification of a Sound Wave

Abstract

Jan Myjkowski

According to the theory of traveling wave, silent sounds are am- plified by 40-50 dB due to OHC contractions and the pulling at the basilemma towards the tectorial membrane, which amplifies a signal for the IHC. The OHC is only an amplifier for the IHC. This is the dogma of the theory.
