Open Access Remote Sensing Articles

Remote sensing is the acquisition of information about an object or phenomenon without making physical contact with the object and thus in contrast to on-site observation, especially the Earth.Remote sensing is the art and science of making measurements of the earth using sensors on airplanes or satellites and geographic information system (GIS) is a computer-based tool for mapping and analyzing feature events on earth. It integrates common database operations, such as query and statistical analysis, with maps. The open access journal Remote sensing & GIS is a scientific journal that includes a wide range of fields in its discipline and reports the acquisition of information about an object or phenomenon without making physical contact with the object. It allows to view and analyse multiple layers of spatially related information associated with a geographic region/location. It publishes all concerned research findings and discoveries pertaining to the ingredients and their mode of therapeutic nature to create a platform for the authors to make their contribution towards the journal.Remote sensing is the assessment of information about an object or phenomenon without any physical contact with the particular object and thus in contrast to in situ observation. Remote sensing generally refers to the use of aerial sensor technologies to detect and classify objects on Earth by means of propagated signals. Remote sensing is of two types they are active and passive. Active remote sensing means when a signal is first emitted from aircraft or satellites and passive means when information is recorded.

The International Journal of Remote Sensing ( IJRS) is concerned with the theory, science and technology of remote sensing and novel applications of remotely sensed data.  The journal’s focus includes remote sensing of the atmosphere, biosphere, cryosphere and the terrestrial earth, as well as human modifications to the earth system.  Principal topics include:

• Remotely sensed data collection, analysis, interpretation and display.

• Surveying from space, air, water and ground platforms.

• Imaging and related sensors.

• Image processing.

• Use of remotely sensed data.

• Economic surveys and cost-benefit analyses.

• Drones Section: Remote sensing with unmanned aerial systems (UASs, also known as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), or drones).
