Inflammation And Cell Signalling Scientific Journals

Inflammation is triggered when innate immune cells detect infection or tissue injury. Surveillance mechanisms involve pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) on the cell surface and in the cytoplasm. Cellular Signalling and inflammation publishes original research describing fundamental and clinical findings on the mechanisms, actions and structural components of cellular signalling systems in vitro and in vivo. CSI is the most recently formed Division in the School of Life Sciences and hosts research groups whose work is relevant to the pathologies associated with cancer, diabetes, infectious disease, autoimmunity and allergy.  A common theme that links the activities of the 8 different groups is a shared interest in the mechanisms that cells use to sense external signals such as those detected by various receptors in the immune system on the one hand and on the other, internal signals that indicate changes in cellular metabolic activity and energy status.
